"Touring around Sydney in a Shelby's sidecar has a kind of magical feeling about it. You find yourself smiling and waving at complete strangers for the simple reason that you just feel happy".
Ian - Visiting from the UK
Travel in comfort, style and safety aboard our classic motorcycle sidecars.
Whether you're on your own or with a group, our sidecar tours are loved by all ages and we've been told many times that it's the most enjoyable way to experience the beautiful city of Sydney.
If you've longed to ride on a motorcycle but were uneasy about being on two wheels, sidecars are a great alternative! They're a lot more stable and safer than two wheel motorcycles.
Our average cruising speed is just 35km per hour so you'll never feel uneasy.
Each bike carries either one or two guests (as well as our driver), so you'll be able to tour with a friend and share your experience as you explore Sydney.
Sit back and relax while your experienced driver/tour guide entertains you with personal stories and the occasional interesting fact about Sydney.
We cater to people of all ages, shapes, sizes and abilities and do our best to avoid freeways and busy main roads preferring the back roads and quiet streets.
You can stop at anytime for photos and videos (GoPro Cameras are available for hire) so you'll be able to share your special adventure with friends and family.
Whether you want to see the city highlights, take a run down to Bondi Beach, indulge in a romantic evening tour for two or prefer an all-day touring adventure, Shelby's Sidecar Tours will put a smile on your face.
Pick-up service from your hotel lobby or your front door.
If travelling in by car or train, we can arrange a meeting spot.

YOU'RE IN VERY SAFE HANDS
Our riders undergo extensive rider training before they are able to take our guests. They love to share their stories and knowledge of Sydney along the way. Our sidecars are built for comfort and designed to carry up to three adults and their luggage.
It’s been said sidecars are the safest vehicles on the road, but be prepared to be noticed and do a lot of waving to admirers, as we do attract a lot of attention.
SUITABLE FOR ALL AGES, SIZES & ABILITIES
Australian law allows us to carry people from 4 yrs old as long as they wear a helmet. The sidecar is surprisingly roomy, we have had a guest who is 2.16m (7'1") and another guest who was 135kg (297lbs) both were able to sit comfortably in the sidecar chair. Our riders are also experienced at catering for people with special needs, so no matter your abilities we’ll do our best to make sure you enjoy all the fun of a sidecar experience.
DON'T BRING A THING, JUST YOUR SMILE
We supply everything you’ll need to enjoy your sidecar experience including helmets (from XS to XL), vintage goggles, wet weather jackets, and even a cosy fleece blanket if the weather changes. But you will need to wear covered shoes if you intend to ride pillion.
CLASSIC PICNIC BASKETS
Our Picnic Baskets are an option on tours of 2 hours or more. We pack them fresh on the day with a selection of sliced meats, cheeses, olives, fruit, a crusty baguette and other deli delights. Vegetarian and Vegan Baskets also available.
The Classic Picnic Package $90 (for 2 people)
WHO IS SHELBY?
Shelby Jaackson has loved motorcycles from the time he could walk. He is the 24 year old son of the founder Marc Jaackson. Shelby is profoundly autistic and does not speak.
As a boy he would communicate by pointing at things he wanted and pulling a cheeky smile.
He often pointed at his dads motorbikes so he could get a ride to school.
At age 15 Shelby began having epileptic seizures and due to their unpredictability and his loss of consciousness he was no longer able to ride safely on the back of a motorcycle.
A few years later Shelby’s dad saw a sidecar cruising by and wondered if Shelby would enjoy it. He found one for sale and took Shelby for a run, he was hooked as soon as he sat in the chair. His huge smile said it all.
Whenever they were out cruising in their sidecar, people of all ages would smile and wave,
this led Shelby’s dad to develop a plan for a sidecar touring business for Sydney.
They opened Shelby’s Sidecar Tours in February 2016 with the aim of spreading the same joy and happiness that sidecars have given Shelby, his family and their friends
These guys are awesome!
I booked a sidecar tour for our anniversary and my wife and I loved it!
It was so good to be a tourist in our own town. Seeing Bondi, Centennial Park and the city by sidecar is an amazing way to travel. We couldn't stop smiling for days afterwards.
Book now you won't regret it !

My husband and I were on our honeymoon and he surprised me with this adventure!
We had two sidecars that picked us up from our hotel. Marc and Chris were so wonderful! Sharing all kinds of info about Sydney and the fun neighborhoods we drove through.
As someone else mentioned in their review, I was smiling the entire time and could barely contain my happiness and excitement! And for anyone concerned about safety,
I felt totally safe at all times!
I think the highlight was driving over the Harbour Bridge. Even though the weather was slightly overcast that evening, the views and scenery were still amazing!
Having done this, makes you feel very special like you are a part of a small group of people who have enjoyed this unique experience. How many people do you know who have ridden a sidecar across the Harbour Bridge?! Definitely a must do adventure!!
Mary-Beth and James - Visiting from United States
I smiled all the way during the tour :)
I took the Bondi Beach Tour for 2 hours along with my friend visiting Sydney.
Although I have been to Bondi many times, I could see different side of the area as Marc took us quieter cozier side which was perfect for the ride as well.
You would feel pretty much like a star as people just look at you with curious smiles on their face.
I would recommend you to try both sitting on the sidecar and the pillion. On the side car, you can relax, waive to people like a star, then on the pillion, you can enjoy the excitement of riding a bike especially when the bike turns.
Smile guaranteed as I just noticed the comment on their website mentioning that they'll take you back to the pickup spot and give you a full refund if after 30 minutes from beginning your sidecar tour you have not smiled or are just not enjoying yourself.

I took this trip over two days because it is a very nice way to see more of the city, with a personal touch given by the driver. The driver was a very nice man, flexible to adapt to what your needs are.
First I had a 3 hour trip, next day a 5 hour trip. Fantastic and convenient to see whatever you want to see, at your own rithm. And more important you are away from the crowds, away from the queueing... A little more expensive, but worth this cost, because it is private, at your convenience and your choices, and else they have many suggestions..You will never get bored !... Where can you find this??? So many thanks to my new friend, who showed me around Sydney in this special way. At the same time I got all the information I was interested in.
This is a fine way to travel through the city, safe, convenient, yes ... and even for me this was the first time. You do not have to be a motorcycle fan, it feels like in a cabriolet. It is a similar feeling. You can easily take nice pictures, there are more stops than you have on other travel-means.
Highly Recommended for solo, couples, and even family with kids. 200%safe and 300% fun !!!
Many thx, I'll do this again on my next visit
Peter - Visiting from Belguim
I took the Bondi Beach tour for 2hrs.
I personally like ridint bikes and also motorcycles but getting on the side car was fristly a great way to experience the freely open air Sydney view and was soooooooo much fun!
I took my friend who lives in Sydney but she even admitted it is a whole new way to enjoy the city and was such an exciting time.
It was surely the best tour that I've ever experienced while traveling so many places all over the world and will highly recommend for all of you who are going to visit Sydney!
Aya - Visiting from Japan
A must do-way to see the area for those with a wee bit of adventurism.
Switched off seating halfway and you couldn't get me out of the sidecar-like "Flying on a "Magic Carpet" 18" off the asphalt, unobstructed by windshield or fairing or any mechanical aberration while cruising free as a bird!"
A true "Sense of Freedom" unencumbered by any responsibility of traffic laws or cautiousness as that is left to your careful driver who chats you up within earshot regardless that you are in the open air traveling at 45kph. We both loved it!

We’ve used Shelby’s Sidecars in October this year for some of our VIP guests, which travelled from overseas. We only received great feedback and as an Event Organiser I would highly recommend the Shelby’s Sidecar team to anybody.
Shelby’s were great to deal with, punctual with friendly and experienced drivers.
I wish Marc and his team only the best of success in the future!
Claudia - ID Events Australia
The sidecar tour is one of my favorites; I look for it in any city that I visit.
You’re able to get much closer to attractions, customize your trip to fit your interest & get a more personal view of the city and its history from a one-on one guide versus a tour van/bus.
The afternoon started off great. Marc, the owner stopped by to meet me before Antony & I ventured out to tour Sydney. The afternoon was awesome. I was able to get really good pics of the bridge, Sydney Harbour & the Opera house from various locations. I learned a great deal about the history of the city, the homes, landmarks, etc. from Antony and although it rained on our way to Bondi Beach it stopped just in time to catch a double rainbow and get a few good photos at the beach.
When I return to Sydney I’ll do it again and ask to see a different side of Sydney, but I also plan to come in the summer when it’s warmer and hopefully, not raining.
It beats taking photos from a tour bus any day.

I’ve just celebrated a birthday I’ll never forget with ten of my family, ages ranging from 6 years to 73 years, five gleaming Shelby’s Sidecars, beautiful weather and the wonderful backdrop of the Northern Beaches. The only thing missing was a whale breaching off Freshwater.
We felt like royalty when bystanders waved as we rode by.
Shelby’s collected us from my home, safety features were explained and all helmets provided and correctly fitted, before we left.
Marc and his team are professional, knowledgeable and very good company. They arranged us as pillion or sidecar passengers but we changed positions during the tour.
As Grandma I chose the extremely comfortable sidecar as my permanent place – but I did change bikes! I can’t think of anything that would increase the pleasure and satisfaction we received from Marc and the team at Shelby’s Sidecar Tours.
Lesley - Sydney Local
What better way to appreciate the beautiful sights, sounds and smells of Sydney than nestled in the comfort of a Shelby's sidecar, or riding pillion behind an experienced, engaging and knowledgeable rider?
My partner and I had a most unique two hour sightseeing adventure, discovering unknown gems of Sydney's lower North Shore - panoramic views of the Harbour, Opera House and the Harbour Bridge from Cremorne Point Reserve; beautiful, tranquil Balmoral Beach with its resident cockatoos serenading us, and with a mixture of sea, frangapani and jasmine smells tickling our sensations; coffee at Burnt Orange Cafe/Restaurant with another spectacular view taking in North and South Heads and the beautiful gum trees on the adjacent reserve, home to wild koalas.
Our guide Marc was professional from start to finish. He greeted us warmly and ensured that we were appraised of all safety guidelines ahead of our tour. I started the tour in the sidecar which was roomy and comfortable, and returned riding pillion. My partner found the sidecar had plenty of legroom. Throughout our tour, Marc checked that we were comfortable and provided excellent commentary of the sites we visited. His enthusiasm, knowledge and genuine love of Sydney was apparent.
If you like doing things differently, enjoy a little exhilaration and want to see and experience parts of Sydney that most visitors don't - Shelby's Sidecar Tour is the trip for you.
Sarah-Leagh - Visiting from United Kingdom
What a way to spend my last morning in Sydney - visiting places that are off the beaten track. Not only were my partner and I taken to little known sites, we were taken there in style.
Our guide Marc’s local knowledge of the area was excellent and as an experienced motorcyclist, he made us feel safe and at ease riding pillion and in the sidecar.
Being nearly 6ft, I found the sidecar extremely comfortable with room to stretch my legs out when my partner asked to have a go at riding pillion!
With a vintage appearance and unique livery, the sidecar looked amazing and attracted a lot of positive attention from pedestrians and other road users. The bike’s engine was quiet and the gear changes smooth making it easy to hear Marc’s instructions and information about the places we visited. Photo opportunities were plentiful during stops and even from the sidecar when in motion.
I would recommend this tour to all ages if you fancy sightseeing with a difference.
